Abstract

|
Since the first description of myelomatosis by Rowe and Fahey in 1965, in which the
paraprotein was identified as a new clams, IgD, no clinical and biochemical information
was added for the following 10 pears. Upon the development of immunochemistry
however, clinical characteristics of the IgD myelomatosis have been enabled to be
distinguished from those of the other types of multiple myeloma in recent few years.
The authors recently had the opportunity to document 5 cases of IgD myeloma in
which 2 cases were referred from other hospitals for immunoelectrophoresis, and
reviewed the literatures published in Korea.
